Nineteen hand-blown glass globes gathered around a central hub, the upper spheres splaying outward on radial arms and the lower ones falling beneath, so the piece reads as a cluster rather than a tiered chandelier. Overall 27" (68.5 cm) across and 18.5" (47 cm) deep, before the stem.

The glass

Each globe is hand-blown clear glass with dense internal seeding, air bubbles caught in the wall of the sphere as it is formed. The glass is left genuinely clear rather than frosted, so the socket cup and the lamp inside read through it as part of the composition. Because the bubbles are made by hand, no two globes carry the same pattern. Variation between spheres is a property of the process, not a fault.

The frame

Black stainless steel in a matte finish, with radial arms machined into a central sphere and a matching rigid stem and canopy. Stainless is used in place of plated iron so the black finish holds in humid rooms and does not pit around the socket cups.

Sizing and placement

Over a dining table, a 27" fixture suits a table roughly 40" to 54" (100 to 137 cm) wide, hung with the lowest globe 30" to 36" (76 to 91 cm) above the tabletop. For an open room, add the room's length and width in feet and read the total as inches: 27" sits well in a room of about 13 x 14 ft (4 x 4.3 m). In a walkway, keep at least 7 ft (2.1 m) of clear floor height below the lowest globe.

Because the cluster is wide and shallow rather than tall, it also works over a kitchen island or in an entrance hall with a standard 9 ft ceiling, where a deeper chandelier would crowd the space.

Installation

Ceiling mounted on a rigid stem with a round canopy. Fix to a listed ceiling outlet box and confirm that the box and its bracket are rated for the weight of the fixture before hanging. With 19 sockets across a wide frame, two people make the work considerably easier: the frame is hung first and the globes fitted afterwards, not the other way round. Stem length is specified at the time of order, and a sloped-ceiling adapter is available on request.

Lamping

19 x E12 candelabra base. Bulbs are not supplied. A small globe (G16.5 / G50) or torpedo LED at 2700K reads best inside seeded glass. Because the glass is clear, the socket cup sits visible inside each sphere, so the lamp you choose is part of the look rather than hidden by a diffuser. Clear bulbs let the filament show through the bubbles; frosted bulbs give a flatter, more even glow. Use the same bulb in every socket, since mixed lamps are very visible in a cluster of clear globes. The standard build is not dimmable, and a dimmable version is made on request when noted at the time of order.

Care

Dust the globes with a dry microfibre cloth, supporting each sphere at its base rather than twisting it. The black stainless takes a barely damp cloth and nothing more. Avoid solvents, abrasive cleaners and ammonia-based glass sprays, which will mark the finish over time.

Made to order

Every piece is built to order. Stem length and lamping are specified when you order; changes to the external structure of the fixture are treated as customisation. Trade and project quantities are quoted on request.
