Solid carved alabaster. One block.

A square block of hand-carved Italian alabaster, hollowed from a single piece of stone, mounted to a slim solid brass frame and set flush against the ceiling. No panels, no assembly seams, no glued-together construction. The entire fixture body is one continuous block of carved stone — the way alabaster lighting was made before contemporary panel-assembly methods made it cheaper to fake.

Solid carving matters at this scale. A 45cm or 60cm alabaster cube is significant material — most fixtures in this category are built from four assembled panels plus a top plate, with visible seams at the corners. Carving from a single block requires starting with a much larger raw stone (typically 50-100% larger than the finished cube) and removing the interior by hand. The result reads visually different from panel-assembled flush mounts: no seam lines, continuous veining wrapping around the corners, and the light from inside catches differently because there are no assembly gaps.

About the alabaster.

Each Quadro is hand-carved from a single block of Italian alabaster — the entire fixture body is one piece of stone, hollowed from the inside to house the bulbs. The carving process: a raw alabaster block is selected and cut to oversize dimensions, then progressively hollowed and refined by hand until the wall thickness is consistent throughout and the surface is polished. The interior is finished to maximize light transmission; the exterior preserves the natural translucency that makes alabaster glow rather than block light.

Because each Quadro starts as a single block, the veining wraps continuously around all four sides. There are no seam lines breaking the natural pattern. The corners read as carved, not assembled.

Selection within the same fixture is consistent — veining patterns continue from one side around to the next. Between fixtures, every Quadro is unique: the alabaster block selected for one fixture won't be selected for another.

• Less veining — softer, milkier, more uniformly translucent

About the brass.

The top mounting frame, ceiling plate, and all hardware are solid brass — not plated. Solid because the alabaster's weight (especially Quadro 60 at ~44 lbs) puts continuous load on the mounting frame, and plated brass would wear at the contact points within years.

Default finish is brushed brass. Available in chrome, brushed nickel, or matte black on request — specify at checkout. All finishes at the same price.

IP65 wet-rated as standard.

This is the conversion-critical specification: Quadro ships IP65 wet-rated by default, not as an upgrade. Sealed driver, gasketed canopy, wet-rated LED-compatible socket. Installs in:

• Bathrooms including direct above-shower and above-tub zones
• Covered outdoor areas (covered patios, porches, pool houses)
• Indoor pool decks, spa rooms, sauna anterooms
• Hospitality wet zones (hotel bathrooms, restaurant restrooms, spa ceilings)

Most premium alabaster flush mounts ship damp-rated only — fine for hallways and bedrooms, not approved for direct wet exposure. Quadro's IP65 standard expands the addressable application set significantly and reduces the design risk for buyers specifying bathroom installations.

Bulbs and light.

LED G9 bulbs strongly recommended at all sizes — lower heat protects the alabaster long-term (especially important inside a sealed IP65 enclosure where heat builds up faster), and lower draw allows compatibility with dimmable LED drivers.
