The Cortina is a study in geological drama, evocative of a frozen waterfall suspended in silence. Composed of hundreds of hand-cleaved Natural Selenite crystals, the fixture transforms harsh electrical light into a soft, ethereal moon glow. The jagged, irregular edges of the stone capture the internal illumination, refracting it through the fibrous layers of the gypsum crystal to create a serene, cleansing atmosphere. It is a monolithic centerpiece designed to anchor grand dining rooms or master suites with the presence of a hanging glacier.

Materiality & Construction

Authenticity is the soul of this fixture. We reject the industry standard of using poured resin or "K9" glass to simulate stone. The Cortina utilizes authentic, mined Selenite (Gypsum Crystal), selected for its pearlescent opacity and unique fracture lines. These heavy mineral shards are anchored to a chassis of Solid Brushed Copper. We chose copper not only for its luxurious warmth—which peeks through the gaps in the stone—but for its superior ductility and resistance to corrosion, ensuring the frame never rusts or discolors the pristine white crystals.

The Casalola Standard

Engineering safety is our primary luxury. Because Selenite is a dense mineral, The Cortina is significantly heavier than a standard glass chandelier. The central copper spine is reinforced with a steel load-bearing core to prevent bowing. Every crystal is pre-drilled and mechanically secured (not glued), allowing for natural thermal expansion. The fixture ships with the crystals detached and individually wrapped in high-density foam to prevent grinding during transit, arriving with a "map" for precise re-installation by your electrician.

How do I clean and maintain it?
Wipe with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For stone surfaces (alabaster, marble, travertine), never use chemical cleaners, abrasive materials, or wet cloths. For metal finishes (copper, brass), a dry cloth preserves the patina. For fabric shades (linen, cotton), use a soft brush attachment on a low-power vacuum.

How is it packaged?
Every lamp ships in a reinforced wooden crate with high-density foam suspension. All shipments are fully insured. We designed this packaging specifically to protect fragile natural materials during international transit.

What is the warranty?
Every Casalola product comes with a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. If your lamp develops a fault due to materials or workmanship within 24 months of delivery, we will repair or replace it at no cost. Contact contact@casalolalights.com with photos and your order number.

Are the lamps smart-home compatible?

We cover everything — return shipping, replacement, or full refund including shipping costs. No restocking fees, no questions. Email contact@casalolalights.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and photos.

Lost Packages: Free replacement or full refund. If not delivered within 90 days of shipping, we refund automatically.

Changed Your Mind
Returns accepted within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in original packaging with all accessories. Return shipping is at buyer's cost. Items over 100 cm may incur a 20% restocking fee due to the size and handling involved.
