It is made in two lengths, 157.5 cm (62\") with eight discs and 186.7 cm (73.5\") with ten, both 50.8 cm (20\") deep and 37.5 cm (14.75\") high.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eHow it lights a room\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe discs face in different directions, some tilted toward the ceiling and some angled down, and each tapered socket conceals its light source behind the glass. Light reads off the surface of the discs, and a good part of it returns off the ceiling, so the effect is a broad, even ambient light with no glare from any angle. It is not a downlight: over a working kitchen island, keep recessed or under-cabinet task lighting alongside it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe glass\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach disc is hand-blown, with a soft cloudy banding that runs differently across every piece. The white body is dense enough to hide the light source completely while still glowing warm when lit. That variation from disc to disc is the mark of hand-blown glass, not a defect.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eSizing and placement\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eLet the table or island run roughly 30 to 45 cm (12 to 18\") past the fixture at each end: the 157.5 cm suits a surface of about 220 to 250 cm (87 to 98\"), the 186.7 cm one of 250 cm (98\") or longer. Hang the lowest disc 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35\") above the surface. At 50.8 cm (20\") deep it is broader than a single-row linear, so it reads as a long cloud of light rather than a line.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe light source\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eIntegrated LED: eight LEDs totalling 30W on the 157.5 cm, ten totalling 36W on the 186.7 cm, rated to around 30,000 hours. Warm white at 2700K as standard. There are no bulbs to buy or replace.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eInstallation\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eHardwired to a ceiling box. The estimated weight is about 16 to 22 kg (35 to 49 lb) depending on length, so have your electrician confirm the ceiling fixing before hanging.
