Because the body is one continuous piece, the natural veining wraps unbroken around the whole circumference, with no joins. Every drum is different. At 2700K the stone turns honey and cream and the veins show clearly; cooler light makes it look grey and chalky. The 45 cm (17.7″) suits a foyer, a bedroom or a dressing room of about 3.5 × 4 m (11.5 × 13 ft). The 60 cm (23.6″) suits a large bedroom, a living room or an open-plan space where a hanging light would feel too heavy for the ceiling height.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eMounting\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe drum mounts flush to the ceiling. The 60 cm version is heavy and needs reinforced ceiling blocking.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe light\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe lamps sit inside the drum, so the whole body of stone glows and spreads a soft, ambient light into the room. In a kitchen or at a desk, add task lighting alongside it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eLamping and installation\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eG9 lamps: two in the 35 cm, three in the 45 cm, four in the 60 cm. Warm white LED at 2700K; LED lamps keep the heat inside the stone low. Bulbs are not included. The 35 cm weighs about 6 kg (13.2 lb), the 45 cm about 10 kg (22 lb) and the 60 cm about 20 kg (44 lb). Dust the alabaster with a soft dry cloth only. Never use water or cleaners on the stone: alabaster is soft and porous and marks easily.
